Duraspark to MSD I would like to replace my Duraspark system with an MSD 6AL. The budget doesn't have room for the 6AL and a new MSD distributor. Can I keep my existing Ford distributor and just replace the ignition control unit with the MSD? Engine is carb N/A Ford 2300. If so what would I need to do this change just the 6AL unit itself? Will a Duraspark Distributor work with MSD 6AL?My '68 has a 6AL that's triggered by a Duraspark-retrofitted stock distributor. Works great. If you're keeping the AOD, and don't need the rev limiter, you can save yourself a couple hundred more dollars, and use a Duraspark module as well. Just make sure to get a real Motorcraft one. The parts-store knockoffs are not nearly as good.
