My 66 has a black-green wire that provides the power. If the oil gauge is working you most likely have power to the fuel gauge since these gauges get power thru the same wire. They are tied together at the fuel gauge (at least that is what is on the wiring diagram). The yellow-white wire goes to the sending unit at the tank.
